About Us - Who We Are

Mission Opportunities at Saint Andrews

Angel Tree

This mission provides gifts for children whose parent(s) are incarcerated.  This allows families who qualify for this program to this enables the parent to connect and “give” Christmas gifts to their children. An Angel tag is picked from the tree and gifts purchased that meet the needs of the family, gifts are delivered before Christmas.

Angela Bags

Simple care packages with water, snacks, toiletries and other basic needs to share when you encounter someone in need. These are available in the lobby for you to take and have in your car. We also partner with others to provide scarves & gloves to be left in areas where we anticipate someone in need will be, so they can remain warm throughout the winter.

Bless This Child in Africa

Bless this Child

SAUMC joined the mission in 2012, and all participants help sew and package outfits for boys and girls. As of 2024, 8000 outfits have been sent to 36 countries with mission teams traveling to all parts of the world, for example: Armenia, Moldavia, Bolivia, Columbia, Honduras, Peru, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Kenya, South Africa, Liberia, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Uganda, Appalachia, New Mexico, South Dakota Indian Reservation, eastern NC for Hurricane Matthew and wherever the members learn a need exists.Willing hands create new outfits which are then shipped all over the world and distributed to school children.

Card Ministry

Handmade cards for members, the military, shut-ins, cancer patients and more. The Well Wishers meet once a month to fill out cards and offer written hope to those who need a little lift from their church family.

Disaster Relief

Saint Andrews has an UMCOR certified Emergency Relief Team to assist in the recovery efforts during natural disasters.

Garner Area Ministries

In 2023, we donated 1,709 pounds of food to Garner Area Ministries! This is nearly a TON of food for families that are in need. Items we donate go to families here in the Raleigh & Garner area, directly impacting our community. Everyone is encouraged to collect needed food and supplies to be distributed to area families.

Loads of Love

This mission provides homemade meals to people from the congregation who are home-bound or ill, they also reach out to “non-members” as requested.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Personally handmade blankets, shawls, and lap quilts distributed to the sick, those that are shut-in, and any others needing “warmth.” We always have these items available for members to obtain as a gift from the church in support and for comfort for people in need.

Turkey Tree

Everyone can “pick” a turkey from our tree to buy food gift cards each November. The cards are then given to families in the area to help provide a Thanksgiving meal they may not otherwise be able to provide.
