United Methodists continue to heed the lessons John Wesley taught his followers: to live lovingly and justly as servants of Christ by healing the sick, feeding the hungry, caring for the stranger, freeing the oppressed; being a compassionate presence, and working to develop social structures that are consistent with the gospel.

Saint Andrews is a mission-Church with members who share their love of Christ and follow his command to “care for my sheep.” This love extends into our local community and throughout our nation and world. As needs change and emergencies arise, Saint Andrews seeks way to reach out to those in immediate need and continuing stress. If you want to get involved or just need further information, please email churchoffice@saintandrewsumc.org.

Angel Tree:  Gifts for children whose parent(s) are incarcerated and who qualify for this program that enables the parent to connect and “give” Christmas gifts to their children.

Angela Bags: Simple care packages filled with water, snacks, toiletries and other basic needs to share when you encounter someone in need. These are available each week in the sanctuary for you to pick up and have in your car.

Appalachian Service Project (ASP): Each year, ASP coordinators determine where the needs and living requirements are most challenged in the Appalachian communities. They plan out construction projects and home rehabilitation schedules, and we as volunteer work teams, along with other churches from all over the nation, travel to these Appalachian communities to rebuild the homes and lives and to share the love of Christ to those less fortunate.

Card Ministry: Handmade cards for members, the military, shut-ins, cancer patients and more.

Disaster Relief: Saint Andrews has an UMCOR certified Emergency Relief Team to assist in the recovery during natural disasters.

Empty Bowl: Using different media, children and adults make bowls and collect non-perishable food items for Garner Area Ministries.
